About - Early 20s
HARMZ’s forthcoming album “Early 20s” is the culmination of universal life experiences and valuable introspections from being an early adult, and presents itself as the final act of his musical trilogy.
Harmony Adesola is a Montreal-based artist with origins in Nigeria and an upbringing in South Africa, a multi-faceted artist who expresses himself through music, videography and visual storytelling. His adolescence was segmented throughout Canada, living in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia before moving to Quebec in 2025. His previous full-length projects, “The Best is Yet to Come” and “Better Watch”, are reflections of himself and a snapshot of growth and emotions while integrating into new communities. Earning Music Nova Scotia and ANSMA awards as well as ECMA nods, these projects were created with long-time collaborator Acalus, a dance and hip-hop producer based in Halifax. The duo are now proud to introduce their ambitious forthcoming album and the final piece of the trilogy – “Early 20s”, releasing February 20th, 2026.
“Early 20s” is a project about early adulthood as a period of intense vulnerability. HARMZ provides his own version of the story, told through heartache, ambition, love, and self discovery set on a highway that never seems to end. “Early 20s” explores what it means to chase dreams without a map, to love deeply while still learning yourself, and to keep moving forward when the destination feels farther away than ever. The album is rooted in a dance pop theme reminiscent of a sound artists like The Weeknd and Tory Lanez have popularized, with moments of synthwave, R&B, and ambient electronic. In this groovy yet epic landscape of old meets new, HARMZ carries the weight of his E20 briefcase - a metaphor for the stress and uncertainty that comes with developing into a self-sustaining, healthy, and emotionally grounded person and all that you carry with you to get there.
Three singles from the project have already been released (“The Quest”, “Don’t Waste My Time”, “Butterflies”), giving fans a teaser of what sonics to expect from the full album experience. The full project will be distributed digitally through Wharf Records and features contributions from Aquakultre, Spitty, Quoia States and more. The team has planned an extensive rollout, with the album being released in February, followed by a deluxe, a remix album and an exclusive instrumental release. The visual identity of the album is rooted in an 80s aesthetic in a hybrid with modern surroundings, creating a dystopian energy as if HARMZ is lost in the wrong world. HARMZ will bring the live experience of the album to Halifax on February 27th, and in Montreal, date TBA, for an extravagant release show.
We experience strife in the way we approach relationships and life, and this album is an ode to that rollercoaster of feelings and decisions you have to overcome to become the best version of yourself. This is what makes up our “Early 20s” – and HARMZ and Acalus are excited to share their version with you.
